Emmys 2017 : Zoe Kravitz, Natalia Dyer, Tracee Ellis Ross and Lena Dunham

These ladies below are people I expect risk-taking looks from on the Emmys red carpet

I would die and go to fashion heaven if Zoe Kravitz wore this Balenciaga Fall 2017 dress to the Emmys. Its silhouette is so impactful and paired with a gorgeous pair of satin No.21 mules, some complimentary Van Cleef & Arpels High Jewelry pieces, Zoe’s platinum blonde pixie and a pink lip, Zoe would definitely make an impression on the red carpet.

Natalia Dyer made such a good impression on me following the SAG Awards so I decided to go for a Miu Miu gown for her to wear at the Emmys. Combining a bunch of elements from the brand’s Fall 2017 and Resort 2018 collections I’d love to see Natalia rock this high neck embellished dress with a chiffon train. A pair of silver Miu Miu sandals, some Messika High Jewelry and a pretty, youthful glam look would make Natalia one of the best dressed people on the red carpet.

Tracee Ellis Ross is someone who has shown great versatility over the years. This silk satin Gucci Resort 2018 dress would look so gorgeous on her long frame. Her curls, a Gucci headpiece from the Resort 2018 collection, a pair of Casadei sandals and some De Grisogono High Jewelry pieces would definitely make this one of the most interesting looks on the red carpet.

Lena Dunham’s Giambattista Valli Couture dress she wore to the 2014 Emmys is a look that will go down in red carpet fashion history. I decided to go for a similarly playful vibe with this Ronald van der Kemp Fall 2017 Couture dress. Some sweet relaxed curls, a graphic makeup look, a pair of silver sandals and Irene Neuwirth earrings would make Lena feel right at home.

Emmys 2017 : Strangers Things star Millie Bobby Brown and Grace and Frankie star Jane Fonda

Millie Bobby Brown and Jane Fonda are two ladies without a lot of things in common except for the fact that both their looks feature feathers.

I’d love to see Millie in a custom Calvin Klein By Appointment creation which combines a tulle skirt and a feathered top. Similar looks have been worn by Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman in slighgtly different shapes and colorways but I think this would look really fun on Millie. I would obviously take out a few layers of tulle as to not overwhelm Millie but I think given her previous red carpet looks that Millie would be down for this. A pair of Francesco Russo sandals, some Messika High Jewelry pieces, a sleek bob and a bright makeup look would make this look something to look back on in a few years.

Jane Fonda loves her dresses with sleeves so when I saw this Chanel Fall 2017 Couture dress I thought that it’s a bit of an offbeat choice but given what Jane wore to the Golden Globes last year, I think she doesn’t care about bringing excentric couture pieces to mainstream awards shows. I’d love to see the original Chanel dress lengthened so that it scrapes the floor. A pair of Jimmy Choo platform sandals, some Van Cleef & Arpels High Jewelry pieces, a smokey eye and a bun would complete this look beautifully and make it one for Jane’s Hall of Fame.

Emmys 2017 : Viola Davis and Robin Wright

Viola Davis and Robin Wright are two women that are on top of the acting game right now. Viola won an Oscar this year and Robin was part of Wonder Woman as well as House of Cards and the much-anticipated Blade Runner 2049.

For Viola, I’d love to see her turn to Armani for her Emmys look. They had a great moment at the Oscars and at the Time 100 Gala and I think that they are a good fit aesthetically. The dress I’d like to see Viola wear is from the Giorgio Armani Fall 2017 collection. I took the shape of this dress and added embellishments from these two looks. The black, blue and green palette is a little unusual but I think it would look great with Viola’s coloring. A chic bob, a classic makeup look, a pair of velvet Tom Ford sandals to compliment the dress and some High Jewelry pieces with diamonds, emeralds and sapphires would make this look another hit for Viola.

Robin Wright is one of the masters of menswear inspired red carpet looks. I’d love to see her take that one step further with this Stephane Rolland Fall 2017 Couture ensemble. It’s not clear from this image but the look consists of a simple white plunging neckline dress with a slit inspired by these looks layered with a silk draped top kind of like a vest and a modern tuxedo jacket. Paired with Robin’s pixie which I hope that she’ll go back to because I think it flatters her face more than the bob she was last seen sporting, a simple makeup look, rose gold B Brian Atwood sandals and rose gold Repossi Jewelry, Robin would definitely get back on my good graces after her disappointing Cannes fashion run.

Emmys 2017 : Claire Foy and Keri Russell

Claire Foy and Keri Russell are two ladies whose style seems to be on opposite sides of the spectrum. Claire has taken to more classic, regal and feminine looks on the red carpet but Keri goes for edgier, cleaner pieces, with a distinct vintage sensibility.

For Claire’s look at the Emmys I immediately turned to Erdem, one of Claire’s most beloved fashion houses. The Erdem Resort 2018 collection had a lot of elements that inspired me but when I saw the gorgeous embellishments on this dress I knew it had to be the starting point. I then lengthened the dress and added some small ruffles to the sleeves like this  to add some futher visual interest to the piece, without overshadowing the handiwork that must have gone into making the dangly flowers. A pair of Sophia Webster sandals, some High Jewelry pieces, a soft bun and a simple makeup look focusing the attention on Claire’s piercing blue eyes, would make this look a winner for Claire.

I personaly love Keri Russell’s style but I am afraid that the offbeat pieces she goes for don’t always translate on the red carpet. J.Mendel is a designer that Keri has worn before so when I was looking at old red carpet photos of Keri and stumbled onto this one I knew there was something that could channel this old Hollywood glamour on the designer’s Resort 2018 lookbook. The plunging neckline is one of Keri’s favorite things on the red carpet and the pale grey color enhanced by the silver and pale pink embellishments would look gorgeous against Keri’s skin. There is a real no-fuss approach that comes with the silhouette of the dress that is within Keri’s comfort zone but the rows of beads and sequins keep it appropriate for a big awards show such as the Emmys. In order to futher bring the look into the 21st Century, I’d like to see Keri rock a subtle smoked out cat eye, her signature loose curls, a pair of Gianvito Rossi sandals and some High Jewelry pieces including a classic take on an open choker and a ring.

Emmys 2017 : Westworld stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton

Westworld is definitely one of the breakout shows of 2017. I am currently half way through it, I only just finished episode 5 and I am taking it slow because it’s one of the shows that demand the viewer’s attention at all times.

Evan Rachel Wood has became in a few short months one of my favorite ladies on the red carpet. Her stylist Samantha McMillen and Joseph Altuzarra have so far come out with some amazing looks and I have a feeling that the Emmys red carpet look will be their best one yet. I was inspired by various elements from the Altuzarra Resort 2018 collection. Continuing on Evan and Joseph’s journey from the Met Gala when Evan rocked a dress over pants look, I reworked this dress to include a plunging neckline and a fold over detail on the neckline like this look .To add some further interest and depth in the look I decided to add some pops of purple and some floral appliques . If Evan still wants to embrace the element of pants, she could totally pull a pair of pants like this one from the same collection. Her usual tousled pixie, a deep purple lip, some Van Cleef & Arpels High Jewelry and a pair of Manolo Blahnik sandals would make for a great and unique look for Evan.

Another Westworld star who has a really unique look is Thandie Newton. I’d love to see her wear this Schiaparelli Fall 2017 Couture dress which I had to lengthen in order for it to stop right at Thandie’s ankles. To enhance the geometry of this look I’d add some gold metal earrings, a De Grisogono High Jewelry ring and a pair of bronzed gold sandals. A simple makeup look with gold accents and sleek straight hair off the shoulders would complete this look beautifully.

Emmys 2017 : This is Us stars Mandy Moore, Chrissy Metz

All the This is Us stars will probably be around to celebrate the show’s success even Mandy Moore who unfortunately didn’t receive a nomination for her performance on the show. The show was a breakthrough for Chrissy Metz who I had never heard of as an actress before the show and a huge comeback from Mandy Moore so I expect them both to go all out for the big event.

Mandy Moore has been experimenting with a lot of different styles but not always successfully. For her appearance at the Emmys I would love to see her take a simple but bold approach to her style. This Zuhair Murad Spring 2017 Couture dress definitely fits the “simple but bold” memo. Styled with gorgeous waves, a blue-black smokey eye, a pair of silver Aquazurra sandals and Chopard High Jewelry pieces Mandy will be one the best dressed people at the Emmys- guaranteed.

I am really hoping that Chrissy Metz and Christian Siriano are cooking up something incredible for the Emmys red carpet. I had to look at the designer’s Resort 2018 lookbook to find something that will flatter her silhouette and compliment her pale skin and dark hair. I really loved the print on the skirt of this dress  and the color combo with the autumnal palette and I loved the way the top is structured on  this dress  so I combined all these elements to create this look. With Chrissy’s in big old Hollywood curls, a beautiful makeup look to enhance the colors of the dress, a pair of platform Jimmy Choo pumps and some complementary jewelry pieces, this appearance would surely become one of her personal bests.

Emmys 2017 : The Handmaid’s Tale stars Alexis Bledel, Elisabeth Moss

I’m probably one of the few people who haven’t watched the Handmaid’s Tale yet but I intend to in the next two weeks hopefully.

As a Gilmore Girls fan I was beyond overjoyed about the fact that Alexis Bledel received an Emmy nomination for her small part in the Handmaid’s Tale. And on the same year as Milo Ventimiglia aka Jess Mariano, Rory’s best love interest in the Gilmore Girls! I’d love to see Alexis wear a dress from the Dior Fall 2017 Couture collection. The pale greys and silvers I think would look great on her alabaster skin, plus she could go for a pop of color in the makeup department like if the dress washes her out too much, like Nicole Kidman did for this year’s Oscars. Paired with Messika High Jewelry pieces, Jimmy Choo sandals and loose curls, Alexis who from what I’ve heard is the favorite to win would look gorgeous for her big night.

Her co-star Elisabeth Moss is also the favorite to win, after 6(!) Emmys nominations. Elisabeth has worn a lot of Oscar de la Renta in the past so I went for a dress from the brand’s Resort 2018 collection kind of instinctively. There wasn’t one dress that I really wanted to see Elisabeth wear so I just improvised and combined elements from various looks. The color of this dress instantly stood out to me but I also liked the embellishments on this dress and the knot detailing on these two dresses so I combined all these elements. Styled with sequined Gianvito Rossi sandals and Van Cleef & Arpels High Jewelry pieces, a simple “unkept” bun, a rosy lip and a slightly more intense eye makeup look than pictured, Elisabeth would look like the winner that she is.

Emmys 2017 : Big Little Lies stars Reese, Shailene, Nicole and Laura

I can’t put into words how happy I am that the ladies of Big Little Lies all got nominations, well except for Zoe Kravitz, because Big Little Lies is definitely up there in my three favorite tv shows of 2017.

The 17th of September is going to be a big night for Reese Witherspoon because she played a big part in the 10 nominations Big Little Lies received. Not only did she give a stellar performance as Madeline but she served as one of the producers on the show. That is why I went very bold by Reese’s standards and picked this Atelier Versace Fall 2017 dress. One shoulder dresses look great on Reese and she’s shown an affinity for shoulder pads at the Big Little Lies premiere, this year’s Met Gala and at a Hot Pursuit premiere to name a few. The light blue color and the copper embellishments would look gorgeous on Reese and I think that making the shoulder pad smaller and taking out the embellishments on the neck of the original design doesn’t take away anything from the dress. To compliment the busy design of the dress, I’d love to see Reese go for a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti rose gold sandals and some Bulgari High Jewelry pieces. Reese’s hair would look good in her signature shiny curls and a copper makeup look would compliment the dress whilst adding depth to Reese’s gorgeous eyes.

Shailene Woodley’s stylist puts her in a lot of Elie Saab dresses, even though Shailene’s aesthetic isn’t that of a typical Saab girl. I inspired by a lot of dresses from the designer’s Fall 2017 Couture collection to create a dress worthy of the Emmys red carpet that also looks like something Shailene herself would pick. I took the cut of the neckline of this dress and the embellishments of the top part of this dress to create the top and for the skirt I took the shape of this dress  and the embroidery of this dress as well as a couple more dresses from this collection. With Shailene’s dark brown hair this shade of green is just going to pop and the embellishments have this earthy feel to them like they are depicting images from nature. To complete the look I would only add some De Grisogono High Jewelry pieces, a simple pair of Jimmy Choo sandals, a smokey eye and loose curls.

Nicole Kidman wore Armani Prive to the Oscars so I instinctively went with the same designer for the Emmys. Some of my favourite looks on Nicole are over embellished ones that feature black or white as the base color and have pops of other colors in the embellishments. The idea of this dress is creating a dress with rows and rows of sequins and bigger pailletes. I used this Armani Prive Fall 2017 Couture dress as the form for what I wanted to create. I’d like to see it remade if possible in terms of tailoring and construction in this sequin fabric so I would want see the painted flowers and other embellishments on top of the first row of sequins. To add even more dimension to the look I’d like to add paillettes from this look after the previous embellishments have been covered by tulle and a soft slightly flared tulle train. It sounds really complicated but it really isn’t and the image below helps to understand the vision behind the look. Nicole’s straight hair off the shoulders, a youthful makeup look, a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and Fred Leighton High Jewelry pieces would have me at hello and help make this look one of my favorite ever looks from Nicole.

Laura Dern is one of the people that I feel like don’t have a distinct sense of style. I am not even sure about whether Laura would actually go for this Roberto Cavalli Couture dress but I think that it would look amazing with her coloring. The way the model is posing makes the slit look huge but Laura could either not pose like that or she could ask the Cavalli team to close up the slit altogether. To complete the look I’d like to see Laura sport some voluminous curls, a rather clean makeup look, a pair of Roberto Cavalli sandas and Bulgari High Jewelry pieces.
